  1. Thanks for this. What difference will it make if I just add the sugar and black treacle to the cake directly instead of forming brown sugar first

    • In the Cassata Fruit Cake Recipe, Black Treacle is already included on its own aside from brown sugar, if you want to just add treacle and white sugar, it will have to be additional tracle and you will need to work out the exact measures based on the proportions in the brown sugar recipe.
